critique of obama as leading from behind, which was from an unnamed administration official at the end of a 8000 word new yorker magazine piece last year. it has become a staple of republican critics of the president's foreign-policy. there are some real differences between obama and romney when it comes to foreign policy. those are substantive. romney has called a rush of the number one geopolitical foe of the u.s. promised to the surprise even of his own advisers. he has continued to emphasize that and to say that vladimir putin will get nothing from me. barack obama has emphasized as one of his major foreign-policy accomplishments a reset with russia that has enabled us to get more done, whether it is sending supplies into afghanistan through the northern route, which has become a much more significant issue as there have been problems with pakistan that made it difficult for us to get in and out, or having a new nuclear arms limitation agreement with russia. so that's a substantive difference. there are others as well. when it comes to some of the core middle east issues, how to st

think mitt romney is looking very good. that's why the obama administration didn't want to run against mitt romney. he was clearly the most threatening of the republican candidates. i think he's the strongest candidate against obama. it's very hard to take out an incumbent. it's only happened at least republicans have only done it one time before in the last 100 years. when reagan beat carter. i guess isn't last time it's happened, when clinton took out bush. so it's curious, for example, that there were 70 million viewers of that debate the other night. the highest it's been since 1992, last time an incumbent was taken out. and i think that's because people are uncomfortable with obama. but if they're not political nuts, like we are, they haven't been paying attention, haven't been watching all of the debates. and they just want to see who the challenger is and whether they're comfortable with him. and i think after wednesday night, everybody's pretty comfortable with mitt romney. >> you were early. looking back i was reading back on your twitter feed last night and even back in febru

amendment center analyzed the issues of the day including the obama administration contraception rule as part of the new health care law. >> is this on? hello, everybody. i am nichelle. so, let's get started. covering religion in america means writing about religious freedom. what does it mean? how far does it go and who gets it? when i started this nearly eight years ago, everyone was talking about the book on religious literacy and how to bring religion more into the public schools. the last couple of years, we have all written about bitter divisions over islam and measures around the country to limit sharia law and stop mosques from being built. in the past year, we have written about the standoff between catholic bishops and the white house over the mandate to provide contraception and differing views on whether that violates religious liberty. as we were organizing this, every week seemed to bring new fodder for this panel. we always seemed to get new topics that would come up. is there any point at which a video critical of another faith goes over the line pat? can polygamists u

recovered a species, it will be delisted. this was not a decision made by obama administration. it was a judge who reversed the position who changed the future of wolf recovery. it changed the goal posts. what we need ultimately need we needed an endangered reform act. it's not working for the betterment of the endangered species and there's nobody in this room, nobody in montana that wanted to endangered species. that want species to disappear from the face of the earth. the point is we need certainty. we need to work together to delist it. turn management back over to the state. the solution and compromise came up was stopgap. it should be delisted. it still allows the u.s. fish and wildlife service to have an influence. the management should be sent back to the state as we have proposed in my legislation. >> the problem is, legislation didn't make it out of committee. still setting there. we got a bill we can get bipartisan support for and get passed. it was done after talking with sportsmen and livestock producers and conservationist across the board. it was the right thing

the american people would just look and see what happened with the the previous republican administration and look at all the things that the present republican nominee supported during the bush administration and get an idea of the things he will implement if he wins. now, president obama is trying to fix what the previous administration did. it does not happen overnight. in the process at, people want things right now, they want everything fixed immediately. that to the vice- presidential debate. caller: >> the vice-presidential debate definitely matters. i don't think vice-president biden should let them get away with anything. i am an independent. i have voted republican and i have voted democrat, but i don't think he should let them get away with anything, because the slightest thing he lets them get away with, the people with weak minds will vote that way. host: you brought up the past eight years. paul ryan at a recent campaign stop in new hampshire was talking about the threat of deficit spending. it's probably something you might hear tonight at the vice- presidential debate. her

. my record shows that on controversial issues. i would be the point person for our administration. when asked if i wanted a portfolio, my response was no. barack obama indicated he wanted me to be with him to help him governmen. i will give my bested by spirit one of the things he said early on -- i will give my best. i look forward to working with barack and playing a very constructive role in his presidency, creating the type of change this country needs. >> there was a lot of concern four years ago that he did not seem to be arrogant toward sarah palin or not patronizing toward her, that would be a better word. and there are no such concerns tonight. he's going to be more aggressive against paul ryan than he was against sarah palin. and of course he won't be -- there's the question that he was answering then, you know, kind of what kind of vice president he would be. his answer on a question like that would be different tonight because of course he's been vice president for four years and we know there are areas in which he's played an extremely significant role including, for
